Terms and Conditions of Sale
Last Updated: 15 June 2026
Welcome to Altapac.
Our goal is simple: help you get the most out of work, travel, adventure and everyday life with great products, expert advice and quality workmanship.
These Terms and Conditions explain how we do business. We've tried to keep them straightforward, fair and easy to understand. If you have any questions, please ask our team.
1. Deposits and Payments
Some products require a deposit before we can place an order or commence work.
Depending on the product, supplier requirements, customisation, lead time or order value, we may require a deposit of between 30% and 100% of the purchase price.
Full payment is required before goods are released or a vehicle is collected, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
If we are unable to supply your order within a reasonable timeframe, or otherwise cannot fulfil the order, you may request a refund of any deposit paid.
2. Special Orders and Buy-In Products
Some products are not regularly stocked and are ordered specifically for you. These may be identified as Special Order, Special Buy-In, C Group, Made to Order, Custom Order, marked with an asterisk (*), or otherwise noted by our team.
A deposit of between 50% and 100% may be required before these products are ordered.
Once a Special Order or Buy-In Product has been confirmed and ordered, it generally cannot be changed, cancelled, exchanged or returned, except where required by Australian Consumer Law.
If a cancellation is requested after an order has been placed, Altapac may retain all or part of any deposit paid to recover reasonable costs incurred, including supplier cancellation charges, freight costs, administration costs, restocking fees and other direct expenses associated with the order.
3. Special Order Administration and Freight Charges
Some products require additional administration, supplier handling or inbound freight arrangements.
Where applicable, special order administration fees, supplier handling charges or inbound freight charges may apply and will be disclosed before your order is accepted.
Any freight, delivery, handling or promotional pricing advertised by a manufacturer, supplier or third party does not automatically apply to purchases made through Altapac unless specifically confirmed by Altapac at the time of quotation or sale.
4. Pricing and Quotations
Prices are subject to change without notice prior to an order being placed.
Once an order has been accepted, your agreed price is locked in.
Quotations are valid for 30 days unless otherwise specified.
If a pricing, product description or specification error is identified, we will contact you as soon as possible and provide the option to proceed with corrected information or receive a full refund.
5. Variations to Quoted Work
We do our best to ensure quotations are accurate based on the information available at the time.
If additional parts, labour or work are required due to circumstances that could not reasonably be identified during quoting, Altapac will discuss the situation with the customer and provide a revised quotation for approval before proceeding.
If the revised quotation is not approved, Altapac may be unable to complete the installation or service as originally quoted. In these circumstances, Altapac will discuss the available options with the customer, including cancellation of the booking and refund of any amounts paid, less any reasonable costs already incurred on the customer's behalf.
Where a quotation contains an obvious error, omission or pricing mistake that would be apparent to a reasonable person, Altapac may correct the quotation and provide the customer with the option to proceed at the corrected price or cancel the order without penalty.
6. Stock Availability and Delivery Timeframes
We work hard to keep stock information accurate, however stock levels and supplier availability can change without notice.
Any delivery dates, lead times or estimated arrival dates provided by Altapac are estimates only.
While we make every effort to meet expected timeframes, delays caused by manufacturers, suppliers, freight providers or circumstances beyond our reasonable control do not constitute a breach of contract.
If a delay becomes unreasonable, we will work with you to find a suitable solution, including cancellation and refund where appropriate.
7. Vehicle Installations and Workshop Services
Our team takes great care when working on your vehicle.
Customers acknowledge that some installations may require drilling, cutting, trimming, removal of factory components, wiring modifications, software updates, recalibration or other permanent modifications where required for correct installation.
Where a customer requests a custom installation, modification, fabrication or non-standard fitment, Altapac will carry out the work only at the customer's direction. The customer accepts responsibility for the suitability of the requested modification and any consequences arising from that direction.
Please ensure your vehicle is reasonably clean and accessible at the time of booking. Additional charges may apply where excessive cargo, dirt or obstructions significantly increase installation time.
8. Collection and Storage
Customers will be notified when goods are ready for collection or when vehicle work has been completed.
Customers should inspect goods and vehicles upon collection and notify Altapac as soon as reasonably practicable if any supplied accessories, keys, manuals or components are missing.
Where goods, special-order products or completed vehicles remain uncollected for more than 14 days after being made available for collection, Altapac may apply reasonable storage charges.
Storage charges will not apply where the delay is caused by Altapac, including where goods are being held pending a scheduled installation, workshop booking or other arrangement agreed with the customer.
We will always make reasonable efforts to contact the customer before any storage charges are applied.
9. Load Ratings and Safe Use
Customers are responsible for ensuring that all loads carried, mounted or towed remain within applicable vehicle, roof rack, canopy, tray, axle, towbar and manufacturer load ratings.
If you are unsure about load limits or product suitability, please ask our team before use.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that vehicles remain compliant with applicable laws, regulations, licensing requirements and manufacturer specifications following the installation of accessories or modifications.
10. Returns and Refunds
Change of Mind Returns
For regular stock items, change-of-mind returns may, at Altapac's discretion, be accepted within 30 days of purchase, provided the item is:
-
Unused
-
In original condition
-
In original packaging
-
Accompanied by proof of purchase
All change-of-mind returns are subject to inspection and approval by Altapac.
Restocking fees may apply where reasonable to cover costs incurred.
Special Order, Custom Order and Buy-In Products are generally not eligible for change-of-mind returns.
Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Products
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
If a product is faulty, damaged, not fit for purpose or not as described, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund depending on the circumstances.
Please contact us as soon as possible so we can assess the issue and help resolve it.
11. Warranty and Workmanship
Altapac provides a limited lifetime workmanship warranty for as long as you own the vehicle on which the work was originally performed.
If a problem arises due to our workmanship, we will inspect the issue and, where a workmanship fault is confirmed, rectify the fault at no charge for the repair work itself.
Customers are responsible for presenting the vehicle or product to an Altapac location, or another repair facility approved by Altapac, for inspection and assessment. Unless required by Australian Consumer Law, this warranty does not cover travel costs, accommodation, towing, freight, vehicle transport, loss of use, loss of income, or other consequential expenses associated with making a warranty claim.
This warranty does not apply to:
-
Normal wear and tear
-
Accidental damage
-
Misuse
-
Overloading
-
Modifications by third parties
-
Failure to maintain products in accordance with manufacturer recommendations
Product warranties remain subject to the individual manufacturer's warranty terms.
Proof of purchase may be required for workmanship warranty claims.
12. Product Maintenance
Regular inspection and maintenance are important for safety and reliability.
Customers are responsible for inspecting and maintaining products in accordance with manufacturer recommendations, including checking fasteners, electrical connections, moving components and load-bearing equipment where applicable.
To help with this, Altapac offers a complimentary 12-month safety inspection on products fitted by our team.
13. Ownership of Goods
All goods remain the property of Altapac until paid for in full.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Altapac excludes liability for indirect, consequential, special or incidental loss, including loss of income, profits, opportunity or business interruption.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies available under Australian Consumer Law.
15. Privacy and Communication
We collect and use personal information to process orders, provide warranty support, deliver after-sales service and communicate with customers.
Marketing communications will only be sent in accordance with applicable privacy and spam laws, and you may unsubscribe at any time.
Our Privacy Policy is available on our website.
16. Force Majeure
Altapac is not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including natural disasters, industrial action, supplier shortages, transport disruptions, government restrictions or similar events.
17. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
