In our 47 years in Newcastle we have never seen anything like this. It is totally unprecedented, and we want to acknowledge that we are in a very privileged position to be able to continue operations while others are asked to close and sacrifice their livelihood for the betterment of our community.
As of 12pm Monday 23rd March we are operating as normal from 94 Park Ave, Kotara. We will continue normal operations until we are told otherwise by Governments and officials.
As a business, we promise to always do our best to protect the health and safety of our customers, team members and the wider community. We wanted to communicate our plan with you so you can feel comfortable and safe continuing to engage with Altapac.
Instore Experience
In order to protect the health and wellbeing of our customers, team members and the wider community, all team members are to abide by the social distancing recommendations. We kindly ask our customers to respect that and encourage them to do the same whether at Altapac or elsewhere.
We’re proactively cleaning all surfaces and high-traffic areas regularly. Our team has been asked to wipe our front counter every hour with disinfectant, including our EFTPOS terminal and our front door is being left permanently open to limit the number of surfaces our customers and team have to contact.
We’re asking customers to use contactless payment methods when paying for your products and services. Cash will be accepted, but our team has been asked to immediately wash their hands thoroughly after handling cash.
Hand sanitiser will be available for use at our counter as much as possible. This depends on the availability of sanitiser as securing it has proved difficult.
Your Vehicle
Our team members are using disinfecting spray and wipes to clean surfaces they will have contact with as they carry out their work on your vehicle. This includes areas of the vehicle such as;
- the steering wheel
- door handles
- window surfaces
- dash surfaces
- key fobs.
When disinfecting vehicles, we will apply the disinfectant to the wipe first and will not be spraying the disinfectant directly onto the vehicle’s surface. If our team member feels that the disinfectant could harm a particular surface (such as a nappa leather steering wheel) they’ve been asked to use gloves to operate the vehicle or when they need to make contact with that surface.
This cleaning and disinfecting happens before our team member starts work on a vehicle and after they’ve returned the vehicle to our customer pickup area.
Online Sales
In order to give our customers more choice for how they engage with us, as of 10am Thursday 26th March 2020, we will offer transactions via our website with free delivery to the Newcastle and Hunter region. These deliveries will be made completely contactless as our team will leave your purchases in a safe location and call or message you as soon as the items have been delivered.
We are looking into ways to make this work to areas beyond Newcastle and the Hunter and will keep this page updated as new initiatives are put in place.
Health Policy
All team members have been asked to stay at home if they suspect they might be ill. If a team member presents to work and display any symptoms which indicate an illness, we will ask them to go home. We kindly encourage our customers and the community to do the same.
Out-of-Workshop Services
We understand that your needs may change during this uncertain time, and we will continue to evolve our operation to best support your needs and mobility.
Should you be looking to minimise personal contact, we encourage you to set an appointment to minimise waiting times and to ensure a staff member is ready to serve you when the time comes.
To continue to offer a variety of ways for you to explore our range, we will be offering virtual product demonstrations hosted by one of our product specialists. These are offered via Facebook Messenger, Whatsapp and other popular teleconferencing services by appointment.
Please call us on 02 4941 4444 to book any workshop or retail services. Availability of these services may not be possible at all times but we are committed to working with you to best accommodate your needs.
